Over the last few years, Myer and Marie have taken steps to centralize the different segments of their ministry all onto the Voice of Victory church campus.
In 2019, the Myer Torbor Academy was completed and sits adjacent to the church. This is where all the NHCV children attend both church and school. In addition, a security fence has been erected surrounding the property.
In 2020, after a dramatic spike in rent made the existing NHCV home no longer affordable, we decided to utilize the vacant school (due to COVID) to house the children temporarily. The school has many rooms, including three bathrooms and a kitchen, which was ideal for our purposes. At the same time, the roof of the church was blown off during a storm and much repair was required. But God uses challenges to accomplish great things!
The decision was made to renovate the church in order to support a second floor. The work has begun and the upstairs will function as a dormitory with four bedrooms, a bathroom, and a dining room. Once completed, this will solve a number of challenges from safely transporting a growing number of children as well as the budgetary expense of fuel.
While our existing budget allows for basic necessities, this undertaking will require additional help. Just as God has directed our steps, we pray that He is directing your heart to help us in this construction project. Your generous giving has fed, clothed, educated, and provided healthcare and love to our children.
God has used your generosity to change the trajectory of these children’s lives. Our sustainable model has shown both immediate and long-term benefits for them. Two of our graduates have gone on to higher learning and we hope to hire them one day as teachers at the Myer Torbor Academy! Another graduate, Katie, is now employed by New Hope and is being groomed by Marie to become the next director for future generations!
Our goal for this construction project is $20,000. We continue to build as the funds arrive and trust God to provide as He always has. We invite you to partner with us through prayer and financial contributions as you are able.
If, and only if, the Lord persuades you that our ask is proper and you are able, will you please help us, even just a little?
We are always so thankful for you.
To God be the Glory,
Myer and Marie Torbor
