After a very long 8 months, the quarantine in Liberia has finally been lifted and it is time to go back to school!
registration is beginning immediately
As of now, it sounds like schools will start back in March. Education is one of the largest expenses that we have at New Hope Children’s Village consisting of over 25% of our annual budget. Each child costs approximately $700 per year. This price covers tuition, uniforms, books, and lunches.
Today, NHCV has 20 school age children that are eligible to attend school. During the containment, all of the schools were shut down. At NHCV, the older children in the house were able to tutor the younger children. Not only did this keep them busy, but it also kept them sharp.
If you or your organization is interested in sponsoring a child for one year, we would be very grateful.
We’ll start with the oldest children and work our way down until the funds are depleted.
In Liberia, all of the fees are all paid up front, so we can only register the children according to the resources that we have available. Last year, thanks to the generosity of so many friends, we were able to register all 18 children who were eligible. We are praying the same for this year.
Today, NHCV has 20 school age children which amounts to $14,000 in total,
but so far we can only register about 10.
