As the year 2015 comes to a close, we reflect back on all the joys, praises, challenges, and all of the kindnesses we have experienced. Certainly, our God has delivered us from the many hardships of life in Liberia, in an orphanage, and with the typical challenges of raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Your compassionate prayers, your generous giving, and your heart felt inquires have inspired us. The work continues and the goal is the same: raise up children in the gospel, according to the scriptures, with the intent that they will take this message and carry it to all points Liberia! It takes time, love, and hard work to prepare the children, but to see the result for the Lord is well worth it!
This was a year of great difficulty for Marie. Her health is not what we would like, and we hope that soon she will come to America for medical care and treatment. We have tried for many years, but now God has given us Jeremy Smith, an immigration attorney that help us achieve our objective. God truly knows our needs.
We gratefully accepted contributions of clothing, food, educational materials, books, and toys, only to meet with an obstacle in logistics. We continue to wait weekly for the permission we require to ship on a tax free basis. Our Lord knows and is always providing what is best. We wait for His deliverance on this.
Christmas is celebrated at New Hope Children’s Village in a worshipful way. Marie and her staff will prepare something special for the children to celebrate and experience the joy of the season. It is not lavish, but the children are grateful, happy, healthy, and full of hope, trust, and gratitude. They have seen the hand of God through your generosity and care, and we all give thanks to God for his watch care over us.
To you we wish a Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Joy-filled, and Prosperous New Year in Christ.
In His Service,
Myer and Marie Torbor
